Rachel Covey
Rachel Covey (born June 15, 1998) is an American child actress known for her roles in the 2005 film ''Duane Hopwood'' alongside David Schwimmer and the 2007 Disney movie ''Enchanted'' alongside Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams. For her role in the latter film, she received a nomination for "Young Actress Age Ten or Younger" at the 29th Young Artist Awards.
==Career==
In 2005, Covey appeared in the film ''Duane Hopwood'' as the daughter of David Schwimmer's character, leading ''Variety'' magazine to select Covey and her costar Ramya Pratt for particular praise.
In 2007, she appeared in the Disney movie ''Enchanted'' as Morgan Philip, the young daughter of Patrick Dempsey's character. Seven-year-old body double Sheridan Lowery was employed for some of Morgan's scenes, being cast due to their similarities in size. Lowery, whose face is not seen in the film, was hired so that Covey would not have to spend as much time on set.〔 〕 For Covey's performance in the film, she received a nomination for "Young Actress Age Ten or Younger" at the 29th Young Artist Awards, but lost to Bailee Madison from ''Bridge to Terabithia''. However, one critic from ''The Globe and Mail'' criticized her role in ''Enchanted'', writing that the film "obviously hoped to provide girls in the audience a surrogate in Dempsey's starry-eyed daughter, Morgan (Rachel Covey). Except they don't give Covey anything to do other than beam happily whenever Princess Giselle enters the room. In 2014, in a school adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream, she played a supporting role."〔 〕
